Jerusalem

With PM Olmert threatening to agree to divide Jerusalem, Dore Gold former Israeli Ambassador to the UN, spoke at the Great Synagogue tonight. He mentioned a number of points about Jerusalem which are not generally known about, discussed or reported in the Israeli or international media as follows:

1) Just 10 years ago it was accepted mainstream US-Israeli policy for Jerusalem to remain united under Israeli sovereignty. This was the heart of the US-Israel consensus.

2) In 1996-1997 when PM Netanyahu signed on to that part of the Oslo agreements which mentioned Hebron he said that in return Israel would build the Jerusalem neighbourhood of what is called Har Homa. The US agreed and twice vetoed any international condemnation in the UN Security Council.

3) Ambassador Arthur Goldberg who signed UN Resolution 242 on behalf of the US at the end of 1967 said that it is intentional that Jerusalem does not appear in that Resolution. When Jordan was in control of the divided city of Jerusalem between 1948 and 1967 it destroyed over 55 synagogues in the Old City and prevented any Jew (not just from Israel but from anywhere in the world) from worshipping at the Kotel. Therefore the status quo before the six day war could not be justified.

4) The Chief of the General Staff of the IDF, Mofaz, in 2001 said of the Taba negotiations "The ability of Israel to defend its strategic rear will be damaged." The IDF will not be able to "provide an answer to the threat from the east" to the population centres of Israel.

5) The immunity which used to attach to religious sites has been lost and Islamofascism will now destroy non-Muslim religious sites. Hamas is the Palestinian faction of the Muslim Brotherhood which has adopted this world view. Just look at the destruction at Josef's Tomb and the demolition work recently at the Temple Mount.

6) The (false) Palestinian narrative is that Israel is the colonial invader and they were the authentic native population. This is why they deny the Temple was ever in Jerusalem. Even in 1863 the British Foreign Office Consul General reported that there were 15,000 people in Jerusalem 8,000 of whom were Jews.

Of course demolition work at the Temple Mount has revealed artefacts from the First and Second Temple periods on the Temple Mount. It must now be time for the Third Temple in a united Jerusalem.

Anapolis

Following the Anapolis meeting I attended a talk by David Bedein tonight. The questions which need to be constantly asked are as follows:

1) How are the Arabs treating their own people and the human rights of the so-called Palestinians?

2) Why does Olmert not demand that the Palestinian Authority (Abbas and Fatah which is also the same thing as Hamas) recognise Israel as a Jewish state?

3) What does President Bush say about the defensible borders of Israel which he mentioned in his statement of 24 June 2002 and in his letter of 14 April 2004 to Sharon?

4) Why does Olmert not insist that the roadmap which he wishes to implement contains the 14 reservations by the Israeli government on the Palestinians stopping terrorism and incitement?

5) Why is no-one questioning the incitement and hatred in the curriculum in Palestinian schools?

How many police do you expect when the Yesha Demo against Anapolis takes place

Where is the equal treatment of demonstrations and the fairness to demonstrate in the supposed democracy in Israel?

Olmert (and the police state) surely it is time to resign!

The national security of Israel

Two weeks ago when I was innocently standing on King David Street across from the King David Hotel one of the border policemen approached me and asked if I was part of the demonstration that night. The demonstrators held posters which said things like "Olmert was falling for Abbas Bluff'". They were demonstrating against the meeting at the hotel where Blair, Olmert and Rice were present.

I informed the eager policeman that I was not part of the demonstration. Undeterred he informed me that I must move on.

Where is the rule of law in Israel? Where is the check on the abuse of power by policemen who can act according to their arbitrary whim? Where is our sound judgment?

We can all see where the real potential danger to the national security of Israel comes from. However do not worry as Hashem is running the show.

1 Kislev 5768

We attended a talk at the Great Synagogue tonight given by Caroline Glick of the Jerusalem Post. More than 1,200 people attended.

We agreed that there is no proper public debate in Israel on the proposed Annapolis peace conference.

We agreed that placing the division of Jerusalem and the making of at least 80,000 Jewish refugees in Judea and Samaria on the conference agenda endangers the very root of the State of Israel. It does not take account of Israel's requirement for peaceful defensible borders.

We no not agree with Olmert in thinking that Israel has found a peace partner in Abbas and the Fatah terrorist organisation.

We discussed the serious topics of the best way to protect Israel's national security and the legitimate interests of Israeli citizens.

Before rushing into the Annapolis conference the citizens of Israel should be able to publicly discuss and debate what other options are open to Israel other than the proposed 2 state solution. It is clear that the Palestinians do not want a 2 state solution as they have repeatedly failed to take any steps to form a civilized society since the Oslo Accords in 1993. Accordingly the 2 state solution is not the best way forward and other options require to be explored.

Certainly the State of Israel should not enter (or rush) into a negotiation or declaration of principles or any other form of proposed agreement at the proposed Annapolis conference (without a proper public debate on all the available options).

Where are the clamour, the demonstrations and the true voice of the people

The talkbacks on the websites (but unfortunately not the mass media) know the true nature of this government and prime minister.

Where are the clamour, the demonstations and the true voice of the people over the arab destruction at the har habayit. Olmert had the opportunity to prevent the destruction but in everything he does he is not protecting Jewish interests. The arabs deny there is any connection between the har habayit and Jews. Of course they score an own goal when artefacts from the first Temple are recovered.

It must now be zman l'moshiach!

Sunday, 12 August 2007

We can all see how totally barbarian, corrupted and distorted the arabs who practise terrorism are in their way of thinking. On day 414 the arabs dare to try to blame the Schalit family. The article in the Jerusalem Post today reads:

"The PRC blames captive IDF Cpl. Gilad Schalit's family [for not putting] enough pressure on the diplomatic echelon in Jerusalem to secure their son's release, Army Radio reported".

Further those who support the arab terrorist in the Old City on Friday are base, cynically calculating and depraved about the . The family of the terrorist tried to suggest that he was killed while on the ground implying that he was defenceless at the time. However pursuant to the Jerusalem Post which posted today on its website a video of the incident :

"the gunman was still shooting at the time he fell to the street, and the [security] guard acted professionally and appropriately in such a dangerous situation".

Where is the insight of our government showing that it 'gets it' .
