Last night as I walked down Keren Heyesod I was shouted at belligerently by the cowardly occupants of a car which sped away. They shouted in a nasty manner "Yehudi". With the surrounding circumstantial evidence to me it is beyond reasonable doubt that the offending word came from unfriendly Arabs.
I have heard worse in my time but still I was startled in Jerusalem in 2007 to hear and see this sort of behaviour. When I was growing up in Scotland it was relatively common to hear this type of comment in Edinburgh from anti-semites but was very rare (if at all) in Glasgow.
This was the sort of comment and its accompanying belligerence which was common in Europe around the time of the Second World War.
It is time for the Arabs to give up all claims to our Holy Land and to stop threatening the chosen people. They must cease their occupation of our land now!
It must be zman l'moshiach!
